you are probably playing way back on the frets or your not pressing down hard enough. another one can be thats you palm muting it to much (which i doubt) but you just want to play right almost on the fret but a little behind. just a tip that i use. =)

On my amp, it has a little button beside the imput. You press it and it distorts your sound. That's what I mostly play on.

so finger 1 is a Bareé finger 2 is on string 3(next fret) finger 3 is on string 2(aigan next fret) and finger 4 aigan on the 3th string? (nextfret)

If it's not that, you may find your fingertips are interfering with other strings and muting their sound (eg. your middle finger is pressing one string but in the way of another). You'd need to work on hand positioning and making sure your fingers are more precise in where you're pressing down. I had the same problem with guitar and had to start with learning to play, sitting down, and noting how my thumb was positioned on the back of the neck for certain chords.

It sounds like you may not be pressing the strings down onto the fretboard hard enough. It's a common thing for all learners. Just need to work on finger strength (sounds silly but I had to when I started on bass).

hey um can someone help me i just got my first guitar a squire stratocaster and i was wondering whenever i play power chords or any chord for that matter the notes sound all muted can someone help me plz thx
