You are right about this, but I did rewind the video to see if this was true. He doesn't appear to be using the miter gauge in conjunction with the rip fence. But at the same time I was told to never align end grain again the rip fence anyway. With a sharp blade and the riving knife in place it is relatively safe to rip cross grain like that, provided your saw is tuned well. A good rule of thumb is that you should not use the rip fence with material that is wider than it's length for ripping.

One thing you mentioned with the glue but not in choosing woods - toxicity. Some of the exotics are not only hazardous to breath the dust when working it but may not be good to use for food but are fine for furniture and other wood uses. Love your videos, just thought this should be mentioned.

I second that!

As an aspiring woodworker (I'm planning on becoming a professional sometime in the years to come), I enjoy a good hands-on woodworking video (I especially loved your interview with David Marks and his wife...you should do one with Norm Abram and his wife as well...he's also a fantastic woodworker). Also, I'd like to mention that Titebond II is my favorite Wood Glue as well. I also love Gorilla Glue for certain glue ups (particularly face laminations and most edge gluing). Awesome video! 5/5 :)
